Construction Conditions
Choosing the right weather conditions is crucial when painting the exterior of your home. Ideally, you should avoid painting in extreme temperatures, including when it is too cold or hot, as it can affect the quality of the paint job. The best conditions for painting are dry and sunny days with moderate temperatures of around 15℃—25℃.
Application Step
Surface preparation :
Before painting, it is essential to prepare the surface properly. First, clean the surface of any dirt, grime, or loose paint using a pressure washer or by hand scrubbing with soap and water. Then scrape or sand any rough spots or peeling paint to ensure a smooth surface. Fill any cracks, gaps or holes with a suitable filler and allow it to dry. Finally, apply a coat of suitable exterior primer to create an even base for the paint.
Primer :
Primer is critical for any paint job, as it provides a smooth, even surface for the topcoat, improves adhesion, and increases durability. Apply one coat of a good quality exterior primer and allow it to dry completely before applying the topcoat of exterior house washable emulsion paint.
Exterior emulsion paint top coating :
Once the primer is dry, it is time to apply the topcoat of exterior house washable emulsion paint. Using a high-quality paintbrush or roller, apply the paint evenly, starting from the top and working your way down. Take care not to overload the brush or roller to avoid drips or runs. Apply the paint in thin coats, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. Usually, two coats of exterior emulsion paint are enough, but further coats may be necessary for full coverage and color.
1) The opening paint should be used within 2 hours;
2) Maintain 7 days could be used;
3) Film protection: keep away from stepping on, rain, exposing to sunlight and scratching until the film is fully dried and solidified.
Clean tools and equipments first with paper towels, then clean the tools with solvent before the paint hardens.
